Updates from the Commission on Cancer Surveyors and Consultants Training

Corry

Marketing Manager

Crystal McDaniel and I attended the Commission on Cancer’s Annual Surveyor and Consultants Training November 13th and 14th in Chicago.    Yes, it was the return of arctic temperatures as we walked down Michigan Avenue.  This annual training is always in November and it is always windy and freezing cold (though they tell us the weather was great last week or will be great next week!)  The Commission on Cancer is fortunately located in the middle of great shopping and dining.   Our meetings are held on the 28th floor in the Board of Regents Room which has a beautiful view of Chicago.   Though the topics are always interesting and relevant to our work, everyone looks forward to enjoying Chicago as well!

Dr. Thomas Eisenhauer was the master of ceremonies this year and, as many of you know, he has become an avid runner and has participated in several marathons.   His introductions included pictures and captions from marathons across the country.  He has a great skill of using photoshop to allow all of the speakers to participate in the events!

Every year there are new topics to discuss and debate during the training.  This year we did not learn of significant changes but we did receive updates and clarifications.   The training is a great opportunity to hear what the surveyors are told and to be included in the dialogue of questions and sharing of experiences.   We all learn from each other.

Crystal McDaniel and I are privileged to have been chosen as CoC-Trained Consultants several years ago.  We are able to provide our clients with the most updated information as well as the opportunity to interact directly with surveyors throughout the training.
