Tips to Promote a Work-Life Balance in the Workplace

It is sometimes difficult to separate work from our personal lives especially with technology being readily available and always at your fingertips. I recently read an article called “8 Top Tips to Promote Work-Life Balance in Your Office” and wanted to share some of the tips provided.  These tips may help employers and employees alike  to boost workplace well being and promote a better work-life balance.

Encourage time off – Everyone needs a break at some point to recharge and refocus. Sometimes you just have to click the off switch and enjoy some personal time. You will be amazed at how this will help you refocus.  That difficult, daunting task that you have been struggling with will actually become much clearer and less of a burden with a set of refreshed eyes and a recharged brain.

Implement Short Breaks – It is important to get up and move around periodically throughout the day. Step away from your desk for a drink of water or a quick stroll outside to get some fresh air.

Respect other team members time off – Avoid contacting team members outside of work hours or while they are on vacation unless it is an absolute emergency. This allows the team member to completely step away, enjoy their downtime and rejuvenate which is the whole purpose of having a work “schedule” and/or enjoying a vacation.

Flexible Schedule – Allow employees to choose their work hours in order to achieve a better work-life balance.  This allows employees to still enjoy those memorable moments such as a child’s first day of school, a soccer game or caring for a family member.  Being able to balance these two very important things … work life and home life is a blessing. It is entirely possible to have a career but also enjoy the busyness of raising a family.

There are several ways employers can support a team members quest for a work-life balance. Here at Registry Partners this has always been a top priority and one of the key reasons the company was founded.

We know and appreciate the importance of family and personal time and having a career that you love. This may be something that is hard to achieve with other employers but at Registry Partners it is top priority.  If you are interested in learning more about Registry Partners or would like to consider joining our team, please visit our website at www.RegistryPartners.com/careers and apply today!
