Each year, the National Cancer Registrars Association holds an annual educational conference for the cancer registry community. This is an excellent opportunity not only for professional development but also for networking and meeting colleagues across the U.S.
This past May, previous Oncology Intern, Ming Chu, was selected to attend the NCRA Annual Conference. While networking at the Registry Partners booth, Ming met Patrick Lewis, President of the California Cancer Registrars Association (CCRA). Patrick was very intrigued with Ming’s path and educational journey into the cancer registry profession, and wanted to hear more about the educational opportunities and programs that Registry Partner’s has to offer to newly certified Oncology Data Specialists (previously Certified Tumor Registrar). Ultimately, Patrick invited Ming to be featured in the December 2023 Edition of the CCRA Record. Ming was delighted to accept and shared her path to becoming a ODS-C, as well as her 1 year educational journey through the Registry Partner’s Oncology Internship Program.
