Registry Partners attended the Oklahoma Cancer Registrars Association (OCRA) 2018 Fall Education Conference on October 25th and 26th, 2018 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. There were 66 in attendance and the association had 3 new CTRs.
Louanne Currence, who made it incredibly fun to learn, went over the 8th Edition AJCC Cancer Staging – Principles of Cancer Staging, Melanoma of the Skin, Lung, Head and Neck and Breast on the first day. The 2nd day, William Dooley, MD, FACS, CoC Surveyor reviewed the Commission on Cancer Updates. Dulce Bramblett, CTR (President of OCRA) presented the 2018 New Radiation Coding Rules. Susan Nagelhout, CTR (President Elect of OCRA) discussed the SEER Summary Stage 2018 – General Guidelines and 2018 Solid Tumor Rules – General Guidelines.
It was a great meeting with many helpful presentations as registrars begin to tackle the 2018 changes. Congratulations to Patty Hawkins who was the lucky winner of our Visa Gift Card.
