The Commission on Cancer has recently celebrated its 100th year of service providing cancer program accreditations. Throughout this year, many facilities are also celebrating milestone anniversaries of accreditations through the American College of Surgeons.

This includes Nashville General Hospital located in Nashville Tennessee, their cancer program’s first accreditation was in 1941.

Nashville General Hospital celebrated the 80th anniversary of being accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer on September 27th. Nashville General Hospital is the second-oldest accredited cancer program in Nashville. The hospital celebrated with a luncheon honoring the NGH Dr. Robert E. Hardy Cancer Center team, which included a Mayoral Proclamation highlighting the event and the unveiling of a special hockey jersey by one of our cancer survivors.

The hospital is also excited to celebrate that Vienafe “Faye” Jornadal-Recinto, Manager of Hematology/Oncology Service, was a winner for Community Impact in the Nashville Business Journal’s 2021  Healthcare Innovation Awards. The hospital is thrilled for Faye Vienafe and the entire organization for everything they do to improve the quality of life for cancer patients in the Nashville Community.

Registry Partners has been in partnership with Nashville General Hospital since 2006, working with Faye Jornadal through various versions of the Commission on Cancer Standards. During our more recent survey in February 2021, we received full accreditation with no deficiencies. Nashville General Hospital is committed to quality care for their patient population. Registry Partners also has been partnering with Faye in Cancer Registry management. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Nashville General Hospital in the years ahead!

Congratulations to all of the staff at Nashville General Hospital!
