  • Keeping an updated calendar and blocking time for each task can help make sure you meet your goals and complete your to-do list timely and efficiently.

  • Remote work allows for a greater amount of autonomy.
  • One not only must be able to complete tasks without constant supervision but also be proactive with starting new projects or tasks.
  • Being able to identify a need and take action without requiring continual direction or instructions are the people who will flourish in a remote environment.
  • Having that go-getter attitude and ability to take action independently is a great asset in an employee and something remote companies look for.

Setting Boundaries:

  • Boundaries also help you keep on task and stay focused.
  • It also helps separate work and personal life from blending together.
  • Make sure you have a dedicated workspace so you can separate yourself from any distractions and keep you focused.
  • Using a spare room for your home office is ideal, but if that is not an option, clean and tidy up your workspace at the end of the day.  Consider turning off your computer to prevent you from returning to any unanswered emails or tasks that may be tempting to address because of the close proximity of your work.
  • Make sure you have a clear separation from work and personal life to prevent burn out and truly escape from your work.

Employers are looking to fill remote positions with candidates who can stay on task, provide high-quality work, and take action without needing constant direction.

Employees who are productive, stay focused and work well independently will thrive in a remote environment.
