Recap – National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ) Annual Conference

Corry

Marketing Manager

Registry Partners attended the National Association for Healthcare Quality Annual Conference on November 5-7, 2018, in Minneapolis Minnesota.

Carla Harris, Vice Chairman and Managing Director at Morgan Stanley, led the opening sessions with “Carla’s Pearls”.   Her vision on leadership, management, and company commitment was outstanding!  She was just one of many great speakers, all who devoted their time and energies to discussing leadership roles, industry changes, upcoming governmental regulations, and healthcare performance improvement initiatives.   In-person and virtual attendance made it possible for the sessions to be heard by many.

Other Topics included:

  • All-Cause Readmissions
  • eCQMs
  • Continuity of Care
  • Nursing Home Indicators

Dashboards and Statistics sessions were filled with quality colleagues, all looking to gain insight on data display and data interpretation.   Behavioral Health initiatives were presented along with discussions on Opioid Dependency in the Emergency Department, which is increasingly problematic in our healthcare facilities today.

Wrapping up the NAHQ conference with closing remarks was comic-relief presenter Jan McInnis, sharing “How to find the Funny in Change”.   She shared entertaining twists to the ever-changing healthcare dynamics.   What a fantastic way to close out the conference – with humor!
A special Congratulations to Lori Fink, who was the lucky winner of our raffle prize – a catered “Department Luncheon”.
