Recap of the Illinois & Iowa Regional Educational Meeting
September 13th & 14th, 2017
I had the pleasure of representing Registry Partners at the Illinois & Iowa Regional Educational Meeting on September 13th and 14th in Moline, Illinois.
It was really nice to network with familiar colleagues but also meet new registry professionals from other organizations & facilities. The meeting agenda was full of information and once again, Jim Hofferkamp from NAACCR joined the line-up of presenters where he highlighted the 2018 Cancer Registry Updates and discussed AJCC Staging for Lung Cancer.
Additionally,Sara Campbell, RN, BSN, OCN, shared an interesting presentation on Molecular Testing and 8TH edition AJCC Staging for Breast Cancer. Dr. Charles Platz from the University of Iowa also answered many questions during his session titled “Ask The Pathologist”.
This was the 1st Regional Meeting Illinois and Iowa have planned together and it was a very informative and successful meeting.
Registry Partners raffled two Visa Gift Cards at the conference and the lucky winners were Renee Hillgartner and Amy Cote. Congratulations to Renee and Amy!
