The 2015 GATRA (Georgia Tumor Registrars Association) Fall Education Conference was held November 12-13,2015 in Savannah GA at the Savannah Marriott Riverfront. In attendance was Registry Partners Project Manger, Anna Muza, CTR who was gracious enough to write a little bit about her time there!
“The Theme for the conference was “Abstracting is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re going to get.” Everything about this conference was very sweet- from the basket of Russell Stover chocolates to choose from at the Registration table to the sweet tea during the meals. It was also sweet to catch up with old friends and colleagues. The location was on the beautiful River Street in Savannah, so plenty of restaurants and gift shops were within walking distance. We “attempted” the first Webex presentation by Donna Gress on TNM staging. We had submitted questions that she would answer, and then be able to ask more during her talk. Unfortunately , she was very sick with laryngitis, so the presentation became a written one with her typing her answers on the computer screen for us all to read. She still did a great job explaining why we are doing what we are with the staging and how it should be changing with the 8th edition.”
In addition to attending the conference, Registry Partners had a table available for members to meet and greet with Anna and register for our raffle prize. We would like to congratulate Susan Lomb (seen seated with Anna) who was the raffle winner! We would also like to thank GATRA for letting us attend and for being such a wonderful group!
