The 38th Annual FCRA (Florida Cancer Registrars Association) Conference was held July 25-26th, 2016 in Boca Raton, Florida The conference was held at the Boca Raton Marriott Hotel. Representing the Registry Partners Oncology Division was Quality Control Manager Calypso Dogbe-Ullery, CTR who was kind enough to share her experience!
“Well, conference season is in full swing and a few weeks ago I had the pleasure of attending Florida Cancer Registrars Association (FCRA) Annual conference held July 25th – 26th at Boca Raton Marriott. It was such a wonderful experience to be surrounded by passionate colleagues who are dedicated to the work that we do. There were plenty of great presentations geared towards what the future of medicine holds. A couple of the speakers spoke about genetics and precision medicine and how it will revolutionize how we think and treat cancer. There was a particularly noteworthy presentation about neuro-oncology and the challenges in the management of these rare cancers and the novel therapeutic advances that have been made in the last couple of years. It really is an exciting time to be a cancer registrar!”
Along with our attendance, Registry Partners was proud to be a returning vendor for the FCRA conference. Calypso had the opportunity to speak with other CTR’s and encourage raffle entries. We would like to congratulate Eliza Melendez (seen here with Calyspo) with Cape Canaveral Hospital who was one of our raffle winners this year! We would also like to thank FCRA for the opportunity to attend.
