Get With The Guidelines®
Get With The Guidelines® (GWTG) supports hospitals in delivering evidence-based stroke care that improves patient outcomes, promotes equitable treatment, and supports certification and reimbursement goals. While the registry provides a robust and valuable data set, many organizations face challenges translating that data into actionable performance improvement strategies.
The true value of stroke registry participation lies not only in data collection, but in the ability to interpret outcomes, identify performance gaps, and communicate insights effectively across clinical, quality, and leadership teams.
The Problem
The hospital sought to strengthen its stroke registry performance by:

Solution

- Complete stroke data abstraction using registry tools or direct abstraction into IQVIA
- Support ranging from required fields to full Comprehensive Stroke (CSTK) abstraction, including thrombolytic, thrombectomy, and hemorrhagic stroke cases
- Monthly analysis of IQVIA, ICH, and DNV reports to identify outcome fallouts and outliers
- Structured quality control processes with a target abstraction accuracy of at least 95%
- EMR walkthrough during onboarding and development of a customized abstraction Roadmap
- RegiHealth© analytics to visualize fallouts and performance trends

A structured quality control process was implemented, reviewing a minimum of 5% of monthly abstraction volume and maintaining a target accuracy of at least 95%. Quality results were shared regularly to support transparency and continuous improvement.
Onboarding & Workflow Optimization
