May 20 is Clinical Trials Day

News & Events

Published/Updated Date: May 19, 2022

Clinical Research Professionals around the world invite everyone to join in celebrating Clinical Trials Day on May 20, 2022. Since 2005, Clinical Trials Day has been celebrated around the world in recognition of the first randomized clinical trial begun on May 20, 1747. This is the date that James Lind allocated men to different daily treatments with the goal of eliminating scurvy from the British fleet.

Participating in clinical trials contributes to medical knowledge and gaining information about potential future therapies. Please join in the Clinical Trials Day celebration by:

  • Recognizing the many professionals who conduct clinical trials and everything they do to improve public health.
  • Helping raise awareness of clinical trial research.
