Rewarding Career & Time With Children: How You Can Have Both

Corry

Marketing Manager

When Crystal McDaniel started working with Registry Partners 12 years ago, she wanted a job that allowed her to stay at home with her first child, but also offered dependable, full-time work. She started working as a certified tumor registrar, abstracting data and assisting with project management.

Today, McDaniel serves as Vice President of Accreditation Services for the Oncology Services Division of Registry Partners. She is also able to be very active in the lives of her 12-year-old son and 9-year-old daughter.

“I can go to school and eat lunch with my children, chaperone field trips, and attend class parties,” says McDaniel. “Registry Partners has given me the ability to be a better mom, not only by being more involved with my kids, but I’ve also been able to show my daughter you can be strong mom as well as have a career.”

Support that Leads to Growth

While McDaniel was abstracting, she started taking on more project management duties, eventually working as a project manager and then project director. At the same time, she became interested in the Commission on Cancer accreditation process for cancer centers.

“The vice president at the time recognized my interest and offered guidance to help me learn more about the standards required to be part of the Commission on Cancer program,” recalls McDaniel. “I was eventually able to move into the role of Director of Accreditation Services at Registry Partners before becoming Vice President.”

McDaniel sees that same type of support at Registry Partners every day. “If there is an area you are interested in, the company will always work with you and encourage you to grow,” says McDaniel.

An Investment in Employees

“Registry Partners invests in their employees,” says McDaniel. “Growth opportunities, benefits like paid travel time, and a guarantee of 40 hours a week make them different from many other contracting jobs.”

“Registry Partners’ compassion for employees is very evident, from working with staff members who have family emergencies, to regularly asking for suggestions on how to improve the company and the work experience,” says McDaniel.
