Healthy While You Work- Exercising At Your Desk

Sitting all day? Need some ideas of how to exercise while working? We’ve got you covered! 

  • Raise those legs!

While seated at your desk, straighten your legs and hold in place for several seconds. Lower your leg(s) back to the ground but don’t let them touch the floor. Repeat 10-15 reps. Can you find a purse to strap to your ankle to add some weight? No one will ever know you are exercising.

  • Lift that water bottle!

Lower your arm to your thighs, bend your elbow and curl your arm towards your chest. This is just like a dumbbell biceps curl. Pause for a minute and lower your water bottle back down. Continue for 10-15 reps and repeat with other arm.

  • Pull your arms backwards!

Standing with our arms by our sides and palms facing behind, pulse your arms backwards for five seconds. Lower your arms and repeat for 10-15 reps.

  • Shrug your shoulders!

Raise both shoulders up toward your ears and hold for 5 seconds. Relax and repeat for 15 reps. Try standing and holding a paper ream in each hand.

  • Find the stairs!

Move fast and take two at a time every once in awhile

  • Pinch your shoulders together!

Roll back your shoulder until your shoulder blades are pinched together. Hold for 5-10 seconds and repeat for 10-15 reps.
